Think of glorious desert rainbows and many of us conjure up images of welcome summertime thunderstorms.  This magnificent arc of color, however, appeared unexpectedly in Southern California's Anza-Borrego Desert for only a short time on the morning of October 20, 2004.  Fortunately it lasted long enough to shoot this three-segment panoramic photo.
