FIREBALL!
MTR-01-003

During the Leonid meteor storm on the morning of November 18, 2001, this brilliant fireball burst eastward out of the "Sickle" of Leo and left a smoke trail that was blown to the south by upper atmospheric winds.  The bright star to the meteor's right―marking the base of Leo's head―is Regulus.  The triangular hind end of Leo lies in the lower left corner.
