ECLIPSE OF A NEW MILLENNIUM
TSE-01-003

From the path of totality just north of Lusaka, Zambia, the moon drifted silently in front of the sun on June 21, 2001—the onset of winter in the Southern Hemisphere—to produce the first total solar eclipse of the Twenty-First Century and the Third Millennium.  The bright planet Jupiter joins the show just below and to the left of the eclipse.
